The story of Tou Tou is about my beloved miniature black poodle who was my companion of 14 years. As an artist, I usually work out my life issues in a creative and artistic way. When Tou Tou died, I was bereft and lost. I longed for his generous sweet spirit. I wanted him with me always and I began carrying around a print I had made of his paw. But I wanted a more permanent keepsake to carry and that was when it occurred to me to reproduce his paw print in metal. I have carried his paw print on my key chain for 8 years now, and probably will for the rest of my life. His paw truly is my "heartprint".
I now have three wonderful canine companions and all of their sweet feet are on my paw toggle bracelet. Call me crazy, but it's hard to argue with something that makes me so happy. I guess you "get" their unconditional love, or you don't. I know my life is richer and I am truly blessed because they are my companions.
